| Long live the almighty 442nd.
Well it turns out that it means a lot more than just some chicken and beef.
WWII was a time of controversy for Asian Americans. The attack of Pearl Harbor forced the U.S. government to send a large core of Japanese Americans residing on the West Coast into concentration camps to be isolated from the public. With less than a few hours notice, families where asked to leave all their possessions behind and take only what they could carry. Soon after moving into the camps, the government asked for the young men to volunteer to fight for their country. Combined with other soldiers from Hawaii, the all Asian 442nd combat unit was created. Seeing lots of action on the field, the 442nd went down in the history books as the most decorated combat unit in the war. With great pride, we have named our 442nd Combo Plate as a tribute to all those veterans who fought and the sacrifices they gave.
